Overview
CDRouter Multiport can also be used to test devices with multiple WAN interfaces. Most dual-WAN routers support two modes of operation; a load-balancing mode and a backup/failover mode. In load-balancing mode both WAN interfaces are typically active and the router will uses any number of different algorithms to share the total load across both interfaces. In failover mode only one of the two WAN interfaces is typically active at any given point in time. The second interface is only enabled if the first loses connectivity.
CDRouter Multiport can be used to test dual-WAN routers in both modes of operation, with a few caveats. For more information, please see the CDRouter User’s Guide.
Test Setup
Requirements
