This testvar specifies the MAC address of the DUT’s DHCP/DHCPv6 client. If not specified, CDRouter’s WAN DHCP/DHCPv6 server will respond to messages received from any DHCP/DHCPv6 client. If specified, CDRouter’s WAN DHCP/DHCPv6 server will respond only to messages received from DHCP/DHCPv6 clients that include a client identifier option that matches the value of this testvar.
For DHCP, the client identifier option is a MAC address and must match this testvar value exactly. For DHCPv6, the client identifier option is a DUID that must contain the value of this testvar. DUID types that are not MAC address based are not currently supported.
This testvar is useful for limiting CDRouter’s DHCP/DHCPv6 server responses to a single client (the DUT) in shared environments where multiple clients may be present.
This testvar and the testvar ipv6WanDutDuid MUST be set when forwardingMode is set to “bridge” in order for CDRouter’s DHCP and DHCPv6 servers, respectively, to distinguish between messages sent by the DUT’s and those sent by LAN clients.
