Returning Hardware to QA Cafe
If you need to send a unit back to us, whether it’s a warranty replacement (RMA) or an older appliance you’re retiring, this page walks you through the process. Following these steps helps us process your return quickly and keep your service uninterrupted.
Before you ship
1. Transfer your data first. If you’re moving to a replacement system, transfer your CDRouter data (test results, configurations, packages, and devices) to the new unit before you ship the old one back. The transfer pulls data from the old system, so you’ll need it available and accessible. Follow our step-by-step guide: Transfer All CDRouter Data to a New NTA. If you have any questions along the way, contact support and we’ll help.
2. Licensing on replacement systems. If you’ve received a replacement system, it ships with a temporary license to get you up and running right away. We issue the production (permanent) license once we receive your returned hardware. To avoid any interruption, please ship the old unit back before the temporary license expires.
3. Let us know it’s coming. Please reach out to support before sending anything back so we can expect your unit and answer any questions about the return. This helps us route it to the right place when it arrives.
Packaging
Whenever possible, ship the unit back in its original box and packaging. We recommend holding onto the original box when your hardware arrives for exactly this reason — it’s sized and padded to protect the unit in transit.
If you no longer have the original packaging, the box your replacement system was shipped in may also work. Contact support before shipping, and we’ll advise on safe packaging alternatives if needed.
