CDRouter IPv6 Configuration Basics

Overview

This training module builds on the foundation of CDRouter Basics by introducing CDRouter’s IPv6 expansion test suite and the basic configuration steps needed to begin testing IPv6 on your devices.

CDRouter’s web UI will again be used extensively for this session. New configurations and packages for IPv6 will be created and the IPv6 Top 100 Testlist will be introduced with a goal of having these tests successfully running on the user’s system by the end of the session.

Following this session your team should have enough knowledge to explore any additional advanced features and protocols on their own. Questions about additional advanced topics that are not covered during this session can be directed via email to the CDRouter Support team, as needed.

Agenda

  • Create a new CDRouter configuration for the DUT (dual-stack)
    • Focus on DHCPv6 with PD on the WAN
    • Focus on DHCPv6 and/or SLAAC on the LAN
  • Create a new CDRouter test package using the IPv6 Top 100 Testlist
  • Launch the test package and review the results

Prerequisites

  • Please note, this training module is not intended to cover the IPv6 protocol. Attendees should already have a working knowledge of IPv6 concepts and operation, and will learn how to configure CDRouter’s features in order to test their devices.

  • All prerequisites from the CDRouter Basics training module must be in place prior to the start of training.

  • The device under test (DUT) should have IPv6 enabled for dual-stack with prefix delegation. If the DUT does not support this mode of operation, or if other IPv6 WAN modes are higher priority, please let us know at least a week prior to the training session so that necessary adjustments can be made.

  • You must be able to access the DUT and make configuration changes during the session.
