Proxy Requirements
We strongly recommend if you are using the JavaScript component, that you run the Packet Viewer API server behind an API Proxy within your environment. This accomplishes several key things important to the security of your system and your data:
- Reuse existing session and authentication mechanisms for Packet Viewer API related traffic.
- Load-balance requests between multiple instances of the API server either per file or per user for performance gains.
- Protect against unauthorized access of the Packet Viewer API
