CloudShark 5.1.0
November 13th, 2025
We are excited to announce CloudShark Enterprise 5.1, a release focused on making extremely large capture files easier to work with. This release introduces Large File Support and Split PCAP capabilities that work together to maintain system performance while preserving complete packet-level fidelity. Combined with CloudShark’s Deep Search functionality, users can now efficiently analyze multi-gigabyte captures without sacrificing access to the complete dataset. This release also introduces Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) availability to help organizations meet modern security and compliance requirements.
What’s New
Large File Support
When a capture file exceeds a configurable packet limit, CloudShark automatically opens it in Large File Preview mode, loading only a subset of packets to keep the system responsive. Administrators can configure the threshold from 10,000 to 500,000 packets.
See our Large File Support documentation for configuration details and best practices.
Split PCAP
Split PCAP breaks up large capture files into smaller, more manageable pieces. After splitting, CloudShark automatically takes you to Deep Search where you can search across all splits simultaneously—giving you the performance benefits of smaller files with complete access to the entire original capture.
See our Split PCAP documentation for more information.
SBOMs Are Available
CloudShark now provides Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs) which are a comprehensive inventory of all software components and dependencies to help organizations meet modern security and compliance requirements.
See our SBOM documentation for more information.
System Component Upgrades
This release includes the latest Wireshark 4.4 release and will be the last release before upgrading to Wireshark 4.6. Suricata has been updated to the latest patch release, and Redis has been updated to address the vulnerability dubbed “RediShell.”
- Wireshark 4.4.10
- Suricata 7.0.12
- Redis 8.2.3
- Packet Viewer 2025.10
Bug Fixes and Other Changes
- Ladder Diagrams expand Packet Tree details in the same window, not a popup.
